1/25 Ounce Pure Gold Coins

Since 2004 the Royal Canadian Mint has produced 1/25 ounce pure gold coins with a 50 cent denomination. The first coin produced was the Moose. The coins design bears the "9999" and "1/25" monikers describing the purity and weight of the coin. A new coin has been produced each year since 2004 with a varying design. In 2011 a different series of 4 different 1/25 ounce pure gold coins was produced with themes including boreal forest, orca whale, peregrine falcon, and the wood bison. These 4 coins do not bear the "9999" or "1/25" monikers.
