1/25 Ounce Gold Coins
Since 2004 the Royal Canadian Mint has produced 1/25 ounce pure gold coins with a 50 cent denomination. The first coin produced was the Moose. The coins design bears the "9999" and "1/25" monikers describing the purity and weight of the coin. A new coin has been produced each year since 2004 with a varying design. In 2011 a different series of 4 different 1/25 ounce pure gold coins was produced with themes including boreal forest, orca whale, peregrine falcon, and the wood bison. These 4 coins do not bear the "9999" or "1/25" monikers.

$100 Gold Coins
The Royal Canadian Mint has produced a $100 gold coin annually since 1976. The coin design varies each year and throughout the history of the coin its purity and weight has changed multiple times. In 1976 a 14kt and 22kt coin were both produced with the same Montreal Olympics theme. The 1976 14kt coin weighs 13.338 grams while the 1976 22kt coin weighs 16.965 grams. From 1977-1986, $100 gold coins were produced using 22kt gold weighing 16.965 grams. Since 1987, the $100 gold coin has been produced using 14kt gold. From 1987-2003 the 14kt gold coins weighed 13.338 grams. Since 2004, the $100 gold coins have been produced using 14kt gold and weigh 12.0 grams.

$150 Gold Coins
The Royal Canadian Mint produced its first $150 gold coin in 2000. The theme of the first coin in 2000 was the Year of the Dragon, based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The dragon coin was the first in a 12 coin series ending in 2011 with the Year of the Rabbit. All 12 of the coins were produced using 18kt gold, contained a holographic design, and weighed 13.61 grams. A different 12 coin Chinese Lunar Calendar series began in 2010 with the Year of the Tiger produced in 18kt gold, weighing 11.84 grams, and does not contain a holographic design. From 2009-2012 a series of scalloped $150 blessings coins in .99999 pure gold were produced annually. The themes for the 4 coins were wealth (2009), strength (2010), happiness (2011), & good fortune (2012).
